FAQs

How do I know if it is safe to laser a brown spot?
If Dr. Bentkover thinks a brown spot on your face that you want removed looks suspicious for a cancer or a pre-cancerous lesion, he will recommend that he biopsy the lesion before committing to a treatment plan.

Can you just get rid of all my brown spots?
We can eliminate many brown spots and lighten others, especially if they are fairly large. Numerous smaller spots are harder to see while lasering and might be better treated with Obagi Nu-Derm skin care or Rhytec Portrait®. Dr. Bentkover will be happy to discuss Obagi or Rhytec with you if he thinks it will give you a better result than a laser. Also, we often combine laser, IPL treatments, or Rhytec Potrait® treatments with long term Obagi use, especially on the chest.
